Our firm, Southern Med Law, led by François M. Blaudeau, MD JD, filed the first lawsuit of its kind in the country. The suit seeks compensation from JUUL Labs, Inc., for medical monitoring of the adverse health effects presented by the growing e-cigarette epidemic. The lawsuit is styled Malaney et al. v. JUUL Labs, Inc. et al., Superior Court of the State of California (Los Angeles County).
We are reviewing and pursuing cases that involve adverse health consequences following use of JUUL products or e-cigarettes. This includes cases involving neurologic, cardiovascular, and pulmonary injury following use of JUUL products or e-cigarettes. We are also reviewing cases where young people have used JUUL and now suffer from nicotine addiction (one pod per day).
Here is the criteria we are using to review and pursue claims against JUUL:
Any person, especially middle school, high school or college students, who has been diagnosed with hypersensitivity pneumonitis, pneumonia, or eosinophilic pneumonia that required medical treatment, including hospitalization, without prior nicotine use.
Any person, especially middle school, high school or college students, who became addicted to nicotine following use of JUUL products and now require medical treatment.
Any person who has developed COPD or advanced asthma after using JUUL products.
Any person that has a heart attack (myocardial infarction) after using JUUL products.
Any person that has seizures after using JUUL products.
